After Liberto 810 and 820, the specialist senior telephony Doro presents on the Mobile World Congress the Liberto 820 Mini. A summary of 820 which obviously does not stand out for its data sheet. Then where? Surprise.
Doro does not know how technically very advanced smartphones. For this, it is better to go to Apple, Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola and Sony, to name a few (but there are many others …). The specialty of Doro is the mobile for seniors (even if we find it reductive to think that a senior is not able to control Android or iOS, but that is not the debate). And Liberto 820 Mini, smaller version of the Liberto 820 presented at the IFA in September is the last representative.
An unprepossessing datasheet
Difficult as ever to establish a complete data sheet for this product, as Doro does not spread on the subject. We know that the smartphone runs on a version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat customized. The smartphone chassis offers three physical navigation keys and touch screen 4 inches with WVGA resolution. On the site LDLC, we learn more: dual-core Cortex-A7 chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage. The smartphone accepts microSD memory cards.
The camera has a 5 megapixel sensor capable of shooting 720p (no webcam). It supports 3G (21 Mb / s), Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, and GPS. The speaker is certified HD Voice. And battery offers 1500 mAh of power. Do not forget the Help button, a requirement for senior products. The whole is proposed to 170 euros. Not very folichon…
The target value
So why buy this mobile? Because these are the perks that make the difference. First, the mobile comes with the keyboard sliding Swiftkey, a very good customizable keyboard (which is certainly free, but here it is pre-installed). Then, the laptop comes with a docking station for charging the mobile. Once inserted, it displays a more streamlined interface with display pictures, music player, clock function shortcut to silent mode and calls with hands-free function.
Finally, the Doro 820 Mini, like all Doro, is a more accessible mobile. HD Voice, button support, physical navigation keys, simplified interface, applications for remote assistance, etc. Obviously, if you’re not part of the target of this mobile, it is unable to interest you.
