Samsung did not provide wearables at Mobile World Congress, but as a marketing executive of the firm have a good reason. Samsung wants to break the cycle of simultaneous presentations of smartphone / smartwatch and devote more time to your next wearable for a more perfect product. Samsung is one of the brands that most models offered in their catalog wearables and has already established itself as a leader in this segment. However, watches and bracelets that have been presented so far have not focused much on the design, but rather on the technical performance. The Samsung Orbis would be the answer to Apple Watch, a watch that does put its focus on design.

Samsung filed a patent in May last year that supposedly describes details of the operation of the Samsung Orbis. The device has a less bulky design round dial that existing in the catalog of Samsung models, and it appears that will be made of metal. The ring surrounding the screen can be rotated to control the clock and some sections will also feature a crown coin although here it is not clear whether this can be rotated as in the Apple Watch. The patent describes a versatile design that can carry it as a necklace, key chain, attached to the arm and of course on the wrist.

There is also space for the features offered by the device, which operate on the Tizen platform. The device returns to bring camera, a piece that Samsung eliminated in their last wearables. The camera will allow scanning barcodes for pricing of products that then may pay through Pay Samsung and may also translate texts. Other features are described in the patent object recognition and gesture control. It appears that Samsung is preparing a different smartwatch to what they have done. The company has turned into the design of its smartphones more pointers with Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and logical step is to follow the same line with their wearables.
