BlackBerry, Samsung and IBM announce SecuTABLET a secure tablet

Accompanied by Samsung and IBM, the Canadian manufacturer BlackBerry is back on the tablet market and announces SecuTABLET, strictly designed for the safety device.

Certainly, the formerly troubled relationship between BlackBerry and Samsung seem to be improving. After signing a partnership around Knox, BlackBerry announces SecuTABLET a secure tablet based on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.

Specifically, the announcement was made jointly with IBM on the occasion of the exhibition CeBit 2015 SecuSmar, a subsidiary of BlackBerry acquired in July 2014. Samsung part in its work including by implementing on its tablet Galaxy Tab S 10.5 . Recall that BlackBerry involved in developing the security layer Galaxy S6 announced at Mobile World Congress in implementing it and WorkLife SecuSuite in Knox 2.4.

The SecuTABLET addresses the professional market, but also the general public. In an official statement, the BlackBerry explains: “personal applications or those that cannot be secured, such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Whatsapp, can also be used.”

Again safety is ensured by SecuSuite the German company SecuSmart. The technology is particularly used for many years by government agencies around the world to secure communications. So far, the suite had been optimized for devices with BlackBerry 10.

His side IBM has worked on a device to encapsulate the technology of SecuTABLET and is responsible for operating the deployment of the solution to customers in the government sector in Germany.

After poor sales of its PlayBook, BlackBerry has always said that the company would return to the tablet market only if they bring something new. This suggests that the focus is truly that of security and aims to expand the market SecuSmart rather than engaging fully in the production of a terminal.
