Last night in Paris, Asus has not only introduced its latest range of Android smartphone. No, as a specialist of the notebook, the company decently could not miss the opportunity to put forward a new ultrabook dedicated to the game: the Zenbook Pro UX 501. Very sexy on the outside, the machine chooses a frame very fine aluminum (2.1 cm) for truly impressive weight (2.27 kg). We’re not going to lie: the overall design still looks a lot like a MacBook Pro see some XPS from Dell. Anyway, the result is very pleasing to the eye.
Upon purchase, the user can choose between a slab 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), or its large UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels). Again, a 1080p screen here seems more than enough, especially as the onboard GPU allows anyway not play in 4K. Besides, talking about this GPU: it simply the GTX 960M from Nvidia, which replaces the 860M and allows play comfortably at all recent titles. Side CPU, Asus has opted for an Intel Core i7-4720HQ, which is accompanied by 4, 8 or 16GB of DDR3L. Storage is meanwhile ensured by a SSD 128 or 256 GB, and a 1TB HDD. In short, a real config ‘player in a very compact frame.
Available in the month of May, the Zenbook Pro UX 501 will be offered € 1,299 for version Full HD 1,499 € for the UHD release.
