Although we expected the launch of a Mi TV third generation Xiaomi today unveiled a new version of the Mi TV 2, smaller and cheaper.
The new Xiaomi Mi TV 2, which has confused the same name as the previous model, has a screen size of 40 inches and is only 14.5 mm thin. The last year’s model, however, is 49 inches and has a thickness of 15.5 mm. Inside is a CPU quad-core CPU MSTAR 6A908 Cortex-A9 and Mali 450 GPU MP4, along with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage memory.
The big difference between the model presented today and the 49 “is that the new model has a Full HD display, as opposed to what 4K predecessor. Obviously this means greater convenience in economic terms: the new Xiaomi Mi TV 2 will cost 1,999 RMB (equivalent to about $ 320). Those who prefer a larger screen and higher resolution can spend $ 670 and take home the first Mi TV 2 by 49 inches.
Also this TV Xiaomi has an integrated entertainment system based on Android (well, MIUI). At launch we find Android 4.4, but will be upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop as told by the company. The Android operating system will allow us to play, surf, watch videos and movies (Xiaomi also mentioned that is investing $ 1 billion in content).
The new Xiaomi Mi TV 2 will be on sale in China starting from March 31, but we do not know if it will be available in other markets.
