Denon introduces a new amplifier compact design and practical solutions. And, apart from offering the classic analog or digital to audio source inputs, the new Denon PMA-50 includes a Bluetooth port to send music from your smartphone or tablet, and also a USB connection type B for use as an audio interface with your computer. In addition, WFP-50 incorporates NFC technology to match our compatible player with one touch and has a sleek, modern design.
The PMA-50 is a mini amplifier design would say. Part of what we might call a new category of Hi-Fi equipment designed to accompany most small computers or multimedia hard drives to typical audio sources more or less traditional measures. The first thing that stands out is its finish, elegant and with a touch premium. The front panel gives all the prominence of the large volume control, which will accompany a selection button input and one for the Bluetooth mode. On the far right we find the headphone jack and the left is reserved for an LCD screen and the power button. A remarkable detail is that we place the Denon PMA-50 both horizontally and vertically, and the legs can be placed in the base or one side, and the screen has a guidance system to adjust by itself to chosen position. It is certainly a detail that is appreciated and will also help us save space if placed on a desk or beside the TV.
The new Denon PMA-50 incorporates than conventional Class D amplifier amplifiers, lighter and efficient. The total power offered is 50 watts per channel into 4 ohms, enough to power a pair of speakers of medium size. The PMA-50 has a single analog input with RCA connectors’ classics, and reserves the rest of their connectivity to devices with digital output. This may seem right to some, but he will see that be enough for use with existing equipment. In addition to the analog input, our protagonist offers two digital audio inputs in fiber optics, plus a coaxial.
But other entries say, conventional, the new Denon PMA-50 incorporates a Bluetooth port that we can send our favorite music from a mobile or compatible device such as a smartphone or tablet. The Bluetooth WFP-50 port supports aptX codec, so we can hear the music transmitted with CD quality. To link or pairing Bluetooth devices we can use the classical system activation, detection, etc., or choose the NFC (Near Field Communication) mode that will allow us to connect with our extensive playing phone or tablet. Of course, these must be compatible with NFC.
Last but not least, the USB port of type B on the rear panel allows us to use the PMA-50 as a sound card with your computer. That is, to listen to audio on your PC or Mac through the amp can connect via USB, using the PMA-50 as an audio device in our system. Thanks to this we can play files with up to 24 bits/ 92 kHz.
In short, a suitable amplifier for users who want to keep listening to your music through a good pair of hi-fi speakers, but without taking up much space and ensuring full connectivity. The new Denon PMA-50 is now available and its price recommended retail is $ 500.
