The waterproof smartphones were at last year mode on the high end. They now arrive on more economic segments. Kazam presented the Tornado 445L, a 4G model that is not afraid of water and small budgets.
Kazam ultimately did not show all news last week, but it was merely brush the Trooper family that brings together all its entry-level models. We had to go to the Mobile World Congress to learn about the Tornado 445L, Phablet 4G whose particularity is to rely on a unibody design IP67 certified against dust and unfortunate dives into the water. A property that is usually more common on the high end and ultimately not very widespread in the segment of mobile sold under the 300 euros.
Economic smartphone that is not afraid of water
The design of this smartphone is also its greatest strength. In addition to its sealing, the smartphone also supports easier worries of life through two glass plates reinforced Corning Gorilla 3, front and rear. A design that should be inspired by Sony, of course, but also with its range Wiko Highway. The 5.5 inch screen is a 720p IPS model developed by Japan Display. The resolution should be unfortunately quite low (267 pixels per inch), but enough for watching movies.
The screen is animated by a platform centered on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, a quad-core Cortex-A53 1.2GHz GPU Adreno 306. It provides 4G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Tornado 445L is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable with microSD. Battery meanwhile reached 2600 mAh. It is not removable.
A relatively common configuration
For the photo section, the main camera is a Sony IMX135 in, backlit 13-megapixel sensor capable of shooting 1080p at 30 frames per second. The webcam on the front is a 5-megapixel model. The set is stored in a frame 7.1 mm thick for a total weight of 143 grams. The Android system, version 4.4 KitKat gives life to all.
No price has yet been provided, not even a date of availability, even if we think, without taking too much risk, it should be expected in the spring.
