Samsung and Samsonite united to create intelligent suitcase

Samsung and Samsonite united to create intelligent suitcase

Samsonite collaborated with Samsung to create a new technology that will make your bags travel intelligent. The luggage of the future will follow only its owner, will self check-in at the airport and will communicate via SMS with the owner.

Samsonite is working with the South Korean giant Samsung to create a new technology designed to put an end to all the trouble you can get when it comes to luggage travel.

The two companies are currently working on the concept of ‘intelligent luggage’ or rather ‘smart luggage’ that is packed with microchips, which can be monitored using GPS that integrate. But you can do much more.

“The clever luggage will be able to communicate with you, but will be able to do much more than give its position,” said the chief executive of Samsonite Ramesh Tainwala. “We are working with Samsung to create something more.”

Tainwala revealed that the baggage intelligent future may also be able to send a message when it leaves the aircraft, when it comes to the conveyor belt, as well as when it is opened.

In addition, Samsung and Samsonite are working on a solution that will allow the luggage to automatically follow its owner, a bit ‘as “a programmable remote controlled car,” said Tainwala.

Finally, companies are also working on a feature that will allow the luggage to make the car check-in at airports.

In short, Samsung and Samsonite are working to put an end to cases of lost luggage, stolen or opened at the airport, always unpleasant situations when they occur during a trip.
