Philips i999 smartphone with 5.5 inch QHD screen and 20 megapixel sensor

The Dutch brand, yet few recognized for producing high-end smartphones, is preparing the release of the Philips i999, a device with a screen 5.5-inch QHD, a 20 megapixel sensor and … a Snapdragon 801 processor.

Philips is not recognized as a leading manufacturer of high-end smartphones. Especially in the West, as the brand launches in some Asian countries. But his fans (if any) should be pleased, since the firm had in his files a new flagship store, known as the Philips i999, according to the site information STJS Gadgets. A device image has even leaked on the web.

And the smartphone would surely assets even though some components on the smartphone already begin dating. Nevertheless, the smartphone was seen in the basics of Chinese certification body TENAA, which would mean he could soon make its debut on the market in the weeks or months ahead.

The Philips i999 displays a screen of 5.5 inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels), which places it in the segment phablettes. Unfortunately, following behind does not please you risk since it would be run by a processor that is no longer young. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 animates indeed the device, clocked at 2.5 GHz. Too bad, Philips could incorporate a newer version, like the Snapdragon 810 which now seems to show its potential. This quad-core processor is accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The smartphone does not have a MicroSD slot for expanding the storage space.

This Philips i999 should instead appeal to photo enthusiasts: dorsal sensor 20 megapixel back with dual LED flash and autofocus, along with another sensor on the front of 8 megapixels for high-resolution selfies. TENAA also mentions the presence of a fingerprint reader on the back of the device under the photo sensor.

Obviously, we cannot even inquire about its availability date, or its price. Besides, do not expect to see it happen in Europe, since due out exclusively in China.
