After presenting, among others, a Chromebook 15 and a screen of 34 inches for the player, Acer recently announced marketing Revo One, a compact computer for gourmands storage space.
On the growing market for miniature computers, Acer launches new alternative to Intel NUC. To stand out from the latter and its many direct competitors like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and Zotac, Acer relies on a less compact but much more welcoming.
While the standard NUC can only accommodate an mSATA SSD or M.2 as a printed circuit, the Acer Revo One actually has 3 slots 2.5-inch. He can embark large amounts of data or for play directly on a TV which it would be connected either to share them on the home network as a NAS.
Here are the 5 expected configurations:
- Celeron 2957U, 2GB RAM, 60GB SSD and Windows 8.1 Bing: 300 euros
- Celeron 2957U, 4GB RAM, hybrid hard drive 1 TB with 8GB of flash memory: 400 euros
- ditto but Core i3-5010U: 500 euros
- Core i5-5200U, 8GB of RAM, the first hybrid hard drive 1TB + 8GB and 2nd hard disk 1TB: € 700
- ditto but 128GB SSD and 1TB hard drive: 700 euros also
- Core i5-5200U, 8GB of RAM and 3 hard drives of 2TB 1 000
All models feature an HDMI output and a processor that supports H.264 hardware decoding. From the second model, they even come with double-sided remote control radio frequencies and with Windows 8.1 (Bing edition on the first model). They can serve as a multimedia player salon. From the third model, they decode and more HEVC, codec Ultra HD era.
The connector also includes a DisplayPort, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an SD card reader, Gigabit Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 802.11n.
These different versions of the Acer Revo One, which was unveiled earlier this year at CES 2015, are available now in Europe.
