Asus Strix 2.0 multiplatform gaming headset

Asus Strix 2.0 multiplatform gaming headset

Asus has announced the arrival of a new component to the range of headphones for gaming Strix. The new Asus Strix 2.0 supports PC, Mac computers and the Sony Playstation 4 as well as tablets and smartphones, thanks to the various connection options offered. The Strix 2.0 incorporates a detachable microphone plus another arm integrated into the body of the headset, and each of the pavilions can be folded flat to carry them in your backpack without taking up much space. They will be available from next March, and its recommended retail price is 90 euros.

The range of headphones Asus Strix was until now composed of three models, all with an aggressive and, in my opinion, successful design considering the audience being addressed: the Strix Pro, a model for gaming with noise reduction, Strix DSP, and direct connection to your computer via USB and four sound modes DSP, and Strix 7.1, we reviewed in tuexperto.com few days ago, and constituting the top end with ten speakers and system variable lighting. Well, now Asus entire family with these Strix 2.0 access model that enjoys the same design as the rest of the range, but with more modest benefits.

The new Asus Strix 2.0 are equipped with two speakers or drivers 60 mm in diameter made of neodymium, like those that equip Strix Pro and DSP. They have a frequency response of 20 to 20,000 Hertz, with a sensitivity of 98 dB and an impedance of 32 ohms. The cable, 2.7 meters in length, incorporates a small controller with volume control for easy to find during the games. To ensure compatibility with PCs as the Playstation 4 smartphones or tablets of all kinds, the Strix 2.0 offers two connection options, two separate minijack connectors for audio jack and mic input to use with a PC or Mac, combo mini jack or connector for use with the PS4 or other mobile devices.

Finally, an interesting aspect of the Asus Strix 2.0 is its dual microphone system. On the one hand we have the boom microphone, ideal for use in chat during games, which can be removed for when you want to use as a conventional Strix 2.0 stereo headphones. On the other hand, a small built-in micro body will serve as hands free to handle calls if we are connected to our phone. The micro removable, together with the possibility of folding the headphones Strix makes our space-saving bag when transporting. The new headset for gamers Asus Strix 2.0 are priced at 90 euros approximate retail and hit stores during the month of March.
