Intel does not stop at the mobile unit and decides to remove the veils also the new family of processors imminent arrival in the desktop: we are talking about the new models Intel Skylake-S. These represent the sixth generation of the chip with Intel Core i and in all likelihood will be presented to the public during the upcoming Intel Developer Forum 2015 in San Francisco.
The news comes from the pages of Chinese portal VR ZONE, which tells us that the new models produced by the giant North American could make its debut in a period between the 15th of August and 15 October. In any case, by the end of the year we will be able to get their hands new models for Intel. In step with today’s solutions, the new Intel Skylake-S will figure solutions dual or quad-core, combined with an integrated GPU. The specimens of high-end GPU GT2 will figure and will feature a TDP of 95 watts, with variations from 65 Watt and 35 Watt operating at lower frequencies. As for the solutions with dual-core architecture the TDP will vary from 65 watts to 35 watts.
There will of course variants of the family “K”, characterized by multiplier unlocked towards each other to perform easily sessions overclocking. There will also be of particular models characterized by “Skylake-U”, designed to reduce energy consumption and intended for the mobile market. The new processors will debut Skylake probably along with the new socket type supported by them: LGA 1151.
