VAIO is back with Z and Z Canvas

VAIO is back with Z and Z Canvas

Sony has jettisoned its VAIO last year to put its finances, to the despair of all the hardcore fans of the brand, and range. A range that is now owned by a Japanese investment fund named Japan Industrial Partners. Yes, and if we talk about it, it’s not for nothing because the latter just unveil two new machines: the VAIO Z and VAIO Z Canvas. It was impossible not to talk about it.

It’s not really a surprise, but these two machines play thoroughly hybrid card and they can thus be used as ultrabooks or as touch pads to choose from. Needless to say they will both come with the latest version of Windows.

The VAIO Z, to start from the beginning, comes in the form of a laptop with a screen mounted on a tripod. With the latter, it will be quite possible to fold the top cover of the machine on his keyboard, and use as well as a slate.

Two machines for two “form factor” radically different

It will be available in two versions, varying according to their color (black / gray) and their data sheet. In both cases, it will take on a WQHD 13.3-inch (2560 × 1440), a SSD 128/256/512 GB on USB 3.0 ports and one self-revolving around 15 hours for moderate use.

Processor side, the first model will come with an Intel Core i5 coupled with 8GB of RAM, an Intel Core i7 against accompanied by 16 GB of RAM for the second. In both cases, it will take on Iris 6100 card.

The price of the VAIO will be around 1600 dollars and both machines will be delivered with a homemade pen.

The VAIO Z Canvas, for its part, is a little different since the screen and keyboard are not welded to each other. We found a little the principle of Surface 3 or even of the Stylistic Q704, so with a rather sexy datasheet. Bulk to notably a 12.3-inch screen, an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, SSD format.

Expected in May, the two new VAIO will be destined only for the Japanese market initially, and unfortunately do not know if they manage to cross the borders of the territory.
