The MWC 2015 promises much. Many manufacturers should take advantage of the show to unveil their new flagships. This would be the case of Nubia, the high-end branch of ZTE.
The MWC will open its doors Monday (or Sunday for the first conferences) and we expect a lot of this year 2015. And more the date approaches, we are more confident. If the ESC has somewhat disappointed, the Barcelona show should book well with us some interesting announcements, including those of new high-end smartphones. There will obviously have Samsung and HTC, maybe Sony, but probably also in other, perhaps less known but equally capable.
Nubia, this may be nothing to you. You will probably be more likely to know ZTE, China’s largest group specializing in mobile telephony and network infrastructure and also creator of the brand cited at the beginning of the paragraph. He had also import from us last year but, following a strategic shift, the project was abandoned. Too bad because, unlike ZTE, the positioning of Nubia is exclusively high end and are usually pleasantly surprised by its smartphones. And, in fact, a new could be unveiled in Barcelona.
This would be the Nubia Z9, Z7 successor launched last summer. The information comes from the Chinese portal MyDrivers but we must admit that the evidence put forward seem a little thin. They take the form of photos showing a young woman with Nubia smartphone in hand. The model question is unknown, but reminds Z7 with its flat slices and aluminum frame. Therefore, it may well be his successor and, given the timing, announcement at MWC is actually not excluded.
But it’s been several months since we believe see the Nubia Z9 imagining that running is not very far. The first time was in November 2014. Then new pictures have arrived in January. Each time, the design is a bit different but the result is the same: no announcement. It is therefore not impossible that the scenario is repeated again and finally make the smartphone skip the MWC although we certainly hope not. Answer next week.
Nubia Z9 could be presented at MWC
