Wiko unveiled its first two smartphones in 2015, the Ridge 4G and Ridge Fab 4G. And, believe it or not, these two smartphones are very promising. For the Wiko, that is.
Wiko begins 2015 with two smartphones full of ambitions. This is the Ridge 4G and Ridge Fab 4G, two mid-range smartphones that have a very attractive data sheet. Both phones have exactly the same specification except for the display and dimensions. The Ridge Fab 4G sports a 5.5 inch screen, 5 inches against for Ridge 4G. It also promises to be the thinnest smartphone in Wiko announced with dimensions 72 × 143 × 7.5 mm and weighs 120 grams. First for the Sino-French manufacturer! Due to its larger battery (2820 mAh, 2400 mAh against and not removable for Ridge 4G), the Fab 4G is a little bigger: 156 × 78.2 × 8.6 mm and weighs 154 grams. Design side, Wiko seems to have also made fine efforts. Slices are aluminum while the rear shell appears plastic. Wiko describes on its official website as offering “a peach finish in matt”. Nobody in writing has been able to explain to me what it meant.
But more than design, it is especially the technical details of the two smartphones that surprised. First important information Wiko not integrated has a SoC Mediatek chip but Qualcomm. It is a Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916), a 64-bit quad-core clocked at 1.2 GHz. She is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and a storage space of 16 GB. It was rarely seen Wiko be as generous with the hardware part of its phones. Both are also dual SIM, two micro-SIM that is inserted under the hull for Ridge Fab 4G and a removable drawer including a micro SIM and / or nano SIM or SD card. Both smartphones are also compatible with the 4G class 4 camera side, the two smartphones are equipped with a back sensor from Sony 13 MP and a front sensor 5 MP. A fact sheet that makes these phones very solid range of environments.
Wiko present these two phones at the upcoming MWC. They will also be installed based on Android 4.4.4 when marketed in March, but will receive an update on Lollipop in the course of the year. Note also that the first press images of the two smartphones suggest not a stock version of Android, but a graphic overlay that Wiko seems to have created for the occasion. According to the fansite Wiko Info, Ridge 4G and Ridge Fab 4G will be sold to the respective prices of 169 euros and 199 euros. Officially Wiko still do not report on the prices of the two phones.
