Xtreamer recently unveiled a new media player on Android: Prodigy 4K.
It can stream video in 4K resolution (4096 x 2160px) at 30 frames per second in 3D; it includes a media center named “KODI” (based on XBMC). The unit is “certified Google” including the Google Play Store pre-installed, and the ability to access the many applications of the latter.
Compatibility with AirPlay service and Chromecast has also been announced by the manufacturer. Among the functions previously disclosed, there are, among others, the distribution files from a phone, the control of a remote computer and browsing through files of other devices thanks to AirStream service. Video recording in Full HD (1920 by 1080 pixels) is also supported by the product.
The Prodigy 4K, the “premium” design seems quite successful, features a quadruple heart ARM Cortex-A9 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. This internal capacity is expandable through a 3.5-inch HDD hard drive. The terminal operates Moreover, Android 4.4 KitKat, also has three USB 2.0 / 3.0, a memory card reader, WiFi, an Ethernet port, an input and an HDMI output, an optical audio output, all in the dimensions of 238 x 207 x 64mm to 1.1kg.
Finally, the Xtreamer Prodigy 4K is available for pre-order for 149 euros.
