Unveiled the specifications of SoC Mediatek Helio X20 to 10 cores

In the last hours have been leaked on the net the first unofficial information regarding the technical characteristics of SoC Helio X20, the new processor Mediatek that within a few months will replace the Helio X10 (MT6795) at the top of the lineup of the Taiwanese manufacturer.

 The specifications of the new SoC (which as I said will be called Helio X20 but that will be also known as MT6797) are unusual and impressive. For the realization of the CPU Mediatek seems to have opted for a triple cluster that will harness the power of well-10 core.

 The core will be partitioned as follows:

  •  2 core ARM Cortex A-72 clocked at 2.5 GHz well;

  • 4 core ARM Cortex A-53 to 2.0 GHz;

  • 4 core ARM Cortex A-53 at 1.4 GHz.

 The chipset will be manufactured by TSMC with 20nm process and will support the networks faster LTE Cat 6. The first benchmark leaked on the net (photos to follow) show an incredible performance increase compared to the current solution of top Taiwanese chipmaker.
