Asus prepares Zenfone under Snapdragon 615

Asus prepares Zenfone under Snapdragon 615

If all Zenfone 2 currently using the Intel Atom, this could change in the course of the year. The CEO of Asus recently confirmed that the models under Snapdragon 615 were in preparation.

Preferred supplier of computer manufacturers, Intel has always had trouble convincing with its micro-processors for smartphones despite undeniable progress in the field. It can still count on the unwavering support of Asus to get a place in our pockets. The Taiwanese made a habit of providing at the founder of Santa Clara to host most of its mobile devices, as it already does for its computers. So it is certainly no coincidence.

However, this does not prevent to go elsewhere on occasion, while leaving the largest share of the pie to Intel. Then Qualcomm found in second in the list of Asus suppliers. Most Padfone employ Snapdragon. It’s already rare for Zenfone. In the batch of 2014, their use was reserved for 4G variants, as Zenfone 5 4G found here. Now, Atom and 4G also go together but that does not clearly exclude Qualcomm provided.

During an interview with Yugatech, Jerry Shen, CEO of Asus, confirmed that some future Zenfone would employ well Snapdragon processors. A reference has even been mentioned. This will be the Snapdragon 615. No release date was given for the new models, but the leader also said he planned to introduce a flagship a year in the future, with small technical updates between each generation. So they certainly arrive before Zenfone 3.
