Lenovo enters the closed circle of Chromebox manufacturers. He has presented today its first desktop computer based on the operating system of Google, the ThinkCentre Chromebox, which has the particularity of being able to turn into all-in-one.
The Lenovo ThinkCentre Chromebox is the Chrome OS variant of the ThinkCentre M Series Tiny (literally tiny) Windows. The technical data are not yet disclosed, but one can think that it will carry a 5th generation Intel Core processor (Broadwell), 2 or 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB of flash memory instead of a hard drive or an SSD.
Anyway, he also has the advantage of being able to support a fastening system for the monitor, but also and especially the future Tiny-in-One 23, which is as its name indicates 23 inch monitor for transforming these miniature computers all-in-one. They have a housing in which the computer is installed, which provides power to the monitor and the computer with a single adapter, and deport the connectors on the front and on the edge.
We therefore have an all-in-one modular and scalable computer, with which you can separately change the display and the PC.
In terms of connectivity precisely the ThinkCentre Chromebox has four USB 3.0 ports (two on the front), a DisplayPort output, HDMI output, a Gigabit Ethernet port and Wi-Fi connectivity (unspecified standard).
Finally, to add insult to injury, this computer will be available this summer, at least in the US, for the modest sum of $ 200. With its operating system centered on a Google Chrome browser, it should as an extra computer to browse the Internet, make the office (via Google Docs or equivalent) consume music or video online. The price and launch date of the Tiny-in-One Screen 23, presented above, is unfortunately still unknown.
