Sony HX90, HX90V and WX500 new compact superzoom

The new Sony HX90, WX500 and HX90V represent the new proposal of the Japanese giant in the field of compact zuperzoom. And is that all three models share the same goal Zeiss Vario-Sonnar optical zoom of 30x, plus compact dimensions, ideal to carry around during holidays or when hiking. All rooms have WiFi and NFC to share our photos without having to go through the computer or connect any cables, and further include the same 18 megapixel sensor and virtually all other specifications except OLED viewfinder of the HX90 and HX90V. For its part, the HX90V is aimed at the more adventurous users with GPS connectivity that will record the exact location of each photograph.

As mentioned above, the three new compact Sony share virtually all their technical specifications. The most important is undoubtedly the superzoom signed by ZEISS lens offers an aperture of f / 3.5-6.4 and a focal length of 30 increases, equivalent to a 25-750 mm in the traditional step of 35 mm. The Exmor R CMOS sensor has a resolution of 18.2 megapixels and power is provided by a BIONZ X processor. All three models also feature a TFT LCD screen with 921,000 dots three inches resolution, as is standard, you can turned upward at an angle of 180 degrees to take self-portraits (you know, selfies) in a more convenient and effective way. Both HX90 / HX90V as WX500 also offer an image stabilizer that will come in handy when using the end of the zoom and are capable of recording video in Full HD format. As for the effects, Sony has included thirteen different ways to apply to photographs, plus seven other videos for customization.

Turning to connectivity, the three new Sony come equipped with Wi-Fi and NFC. This means that we can share our photos at the same time that we made, without having to wait to get home to pass them to the computer. And the Wi-Fi port allows us to send photos directly to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi Direct. And if we have a next-generation smartphone, the operation will be even easier, because with NFC connection we can make the same transfer with a tap between the two teams.

By now you and you will be wondering what the differences between the three models are, right? Well, it seems that Sony wanted HX90 and HX90V guide users more amateur photographers, since both cameras feature a practical integrated OLED viewfinder. This feature is very much in serious fans and also very useful on very sunny days when the screen gets too much direct light to clearly show the picture. For its part, the HX90V adds GPS connectivity to the list of features to record the location where you have taken each photograph. As for the WX500, this model is clearly aimed at users looking for a compact camera that covers any wall or subject, however distant, but not value or do not need the optical viewfinder. Furthermore, while the HX90 / V will be offered only in black color, the WX500 will be available in black, red or white.

Finally, the three new Sony incorporate the same battery but with different results once we get has to take pictures. Thus, HX90 and HX90V offer a range of up to 390 photographs that stays on 360 shots if we use the optical viewfinder, while the WX500 reaches 400 pictures on a charge. The new Sony HX90, WX500 and HX90V may reserve from next June, and its retail price will be 470, 450 and 400 euros respectively.
