Asus has announced a new smartwatch that is not part of the line ZenWatch already presented some time ago: here Asus ViVoWatch with 10 days of autonomy and sensors and applications dedicated to fitness.
New smartwatch coming on the market in the future; this time is that Asus having already announced its first line of watches advanced ZenWatch in November last year, returns with a new product that is called VivoWatch.
Asus VivoWatch is currently not available for purchase, but will definitely be launched in the various international markets (or in selected markets, hoping it will be also included Europe of course) during this year, although unfortunately Asus did not provide a date precise about when this will happen actually.
For now there are no hard information about but we know that Asus VivoWatch will as a strength a good general autonomy, which according to the manufacturer would be up to 10 days with an average use; this result would have been obtained (the conditional is necessary since there is no official information about) by using a display mainly in black and white for a high energy saving features of the colored bars that can act as a signaling LED.
VivoWatch also is one smartwatch that will be very dedicated to fitness from both the hardware point of view, given that we find interesting sensors such as heart rate monitor, pedometer, monitoring of sleep etc., all information that will be monitored and analyzed by some dedicated applications.
From the point of view of design the smartwatch in question shows a stainless steel frame which has IP67 certification then will be well protected from water and dirt in general and can remain immersed for 30 minutes at a maximum depth of 1.5 meters.
At the operating system level seems that Asus VivoWatch not use Android Wear, but perhaps a proprietary operating system of the same Asian company, although this has not yet been certified and are just guesses.
We do not know also how much it will cost VivoWatch, but considering the prices of its direct competitors likely to industry experts have estimated that the cost to the list should be almost certainly below 200 US dollars.
