Micromax is about to launch a new Android smartphone very affordable in India. And this is not the program Android One fruit this time.
Micromax is an Indian manufacturer that we talk quite often in our columns. When it is not for his involvement in Android One, it is usually to its partnership with Cyanogen. Well, not this time. The Canvas Spark is a smartphone designed entirely by Micromax and running Android 5.0 Lollipop. He nevertheless well a special feature: its price. A 4999 rupees (less than 75 €), it is one of the most affordable Android smartphones. But it is not the least well equipped too much.
Indeed, Micromax has managed to keep datasheet quite decent despite its selling price. The screen is protected by glass Gorilla Glass 3, measures 4.7 “and displays a qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels). The chipset is a quad-core 1.3 GHz model provided by MediaTek (MT6582M). It is further supported by 1GB of RAM while 8GB storage has been allocated, with possibility of extension via a microSD card. Two cameras 8 megapixel and 2 are also present.
Dual SIM, the Canvas Spark can connect over 3G (single slot), Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth and also has a GPS. It is also powered by a 2000 mAh battery and provides more than adequate dimensions: 8.5 mm thick, in particular. Admittedly, 4G is missing but we cannot have it either for 75 €, which seems to us a very good rate given the technical proposal.
