A smartphone with a sensor as impressive picture at the front than the rear, it is not very common. Manufacturers who dared this feature could be counted on the fingers of one hand. They are joined by Blu Products. Or almost.
Blu Products, the “Kazam” US, has just introduced its new smartphone: Blu Selfie. As its name suggests, it is a mobile that is for lovers of self-portraiture. This is obviously not the first to be positioned well and it will clearly not be the last either. But for a $ 250 phone, it is based on a very precise technical feature: a 13-megapixel webcam. Better yet, this feature is doubled, since the main APN.
So unusual that we have achieved a little research on the models that offer this kind of equipment. It existed until now 6. The Vibe X2 Pro from Lenovo. The HTC Desire Eye. N1 and N1 Mini from Oppo. The recently ZTE Nubia X6. And Micromax Canvas Selfie. Generally, the platforms that support such sensors are good enough. All have a Qualcomm chipset (from 400 to 801 through 600 and 615). All except one: the model of Micromax offers a MediaTek chipset, the famous MT6592, octo-core 32-bit heterogeneous clocked at 1.7 GHz.
And it is precisely this chipset that we find in the Blu Selfie. He is here accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD), a 4.7-inch 720p screen protected by Gorilla Glass 3 panel, a 2300 mAh battery, Wolfsan audio chipset and Android 4.4 Kitkat (with the promise of an upgrade to Lollipop soon). Just out of curiosity, look at the data sheet of Canvas Selfie. 4.7-inch, 720p, 2GB RAM, 16GB of storage, 2300mAh battery?
No doubt it is the same smartphone. Both OEMs have the same Chinese MDGs. Especially as visually, the relationship is obvious with this convex design on the upper and lower sections, the huge video sensor in the center of the border that overlooks the huge screen, or photo sensor in the rear. If the Indian manufacturer chose a faux leather skin for his model, Blu Products preferred classicism polycarbonate.
Blu Selfie is currently on sale at Amazon in three colors (black, blue and white). It is available in two versions: one with the US frequency bands and a second with the bands of international frequencies, if you are tempted. The price is 250 dollars (230 euros). In comparison, the Micromax model is sold 14,145 rupees, or 205 euros.
