Lately we are seeing a lot of manufacturers that are committed to calling features selfies or autofotos, a trend that has spread around the world, driven by social networks like Facebook or Instagram. However the selfie fashion is not limited to smartphones, which is where we have been seeing more features designed for this type of pictures, camera manufacturers have also seen the potential of selfies and are beginning to appear more advanced cameras with this type of performance. In this case it was Olympus who has joined the fashion with the new Olympus E-PL7, a compact mirrorless with a complete technical profile and places special emphasis on the possibility of us selfies and then shares them via the connection WiFi with the implementation Olympus Image Share.
As mentioned, we have a compact mirrorless camera, a concept that aims to unite the quality that we provide interchangeable lenses with the comfort they give the most compact cameras, both in handling and transport. And the Olympus E-PL7 weighs only 357 grams including battery and without the lens. The camera will start selling next month of September for 600 euros, in a kit that includes the 14-42 mm with variable aperture f / 3.5-5.6.
The Olympus E-PL7 is very similar to the Olympus E-PL5, but has some very interesting improvements, especially in view of the realization of autofotos or selfies. Its screen is a three-inch LCD with 1.04 million dots that has won freedom of movement, allowing us to fully rotate 180 degrees, so we can see the frame as we do a photo. Also when we put the screen in this position, the camera enters selfie mode automatically sets the zoom angle. It also has a way of custom timer which can make up to three photos per second, so that can change the pose in each. The Olympus Image Share connects to your smartphone simply scanning a QR code on the phone. In addition to uploading photos to social networks, this function also gives us the ability to control the camera remotely.
The Olympus E-PL7 has a 16 megapixel sensor with TruePic VII processor getting sharp images with bright colors and high sensitivities. It features a three-axis stabilizer to minimize tremors and get good results both in photos and video, way in which we can record at FullHD and high quality. The camera has a focusing system 81 points with special functions such as Small AF Target, Super Spot AF or continuous approach. Can shoot images in burst at 8 fps, with a limit of 20 images if you shoot in RAW and unlimited if format JPG.
