Lenovo will probably again in 2014 to introduce at the upcoming IFA many new tablets that are expected to come for the Christmas season on the market. With the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2 and the Lenovo Tab S8 now show two of the new tablets on official product images and reveal the first details. The ThinkPad Helix 2 with Windows 8.1 is long overdue and could again generate great interest depending on the orientation. Unfortunately still lacking many details to Tab S8.
Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2
With the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2 of Chinese manufacturers showing at IFA 2014 in Berlin probably the last for some time awaited sequel to the quite very popular ThinkPad Helix , which has already been presented in January of last year. While the predecessor has yet been set on the third generation of Intel Core processors, and therefore even an additional active cooling is built into the keyboard dock, the new Helix 2 comes in a really sleek design. Basically, there are both similarities to the previous and to the ThinkPad 10, which is equipped with Intel Bay Trail processors. Technically, we expect the latest Haswell – perhaps even Broadwell processors.
Fortunately, it is but again gives a keyboard dock here, in which the tablet is firmly connected to the dock and the angle can be adjusted. Alternatively, there is a dock, which we know from the ThinkPad 10. It therefore remains in the known ThinkPad design and a stylus that cannot be accommodated in the housing, is also included. In addition, the display can still place from both sides and so use in a variety of positions.
Overall, Lenovo is the ThinkPad Helix 2 for three different keyboards offer – the standard keyboard, a keyboard and the Pro Keyboard Power Base. Especially the Power Base sounds like a keyboard dock with extra battery, which would extend the term. In any case, the Lenovo ThinkPad helix 2 is moving in the upper price segment.
Lenovo Tab S8
The Lenovo Tab S8, however, is an 8-inch tablet with Intel processor and two front speakers. The design is very compact, very appealing but also colorful. Unfortunately, there is no further detail on the configuration. It would probably be an Android tablet. Up to present, we do not want to specify exactly us. Both Windows and Android would be possibl.
