A new Google patent shows a sleeker design for Google Glass

Google Glass

A patent of Google shows a hardware revision of the Google Glass. In it, you see how the company’s Mountain View is trying to revise the social stigma of bringing these smart glasses. The license, labeled under the name D710,928 in the Patent and Trademark Office, described as a “portable display device” and features a set of images showing what would be normal glasses with a transparent screen inside.

Basically, this patent attempts to solve the design problem of the Google Glass. Thus, it appears that the piece of glass that is used to display the contents of the screen is much smaller than it is today. Note that the license has been granted to the Google engineer Heinrich Mitchell. He has been a key in the development of glass people and has other patents to his name associated with the Google Glass.

Specifically with the latter license, do not know much about what you could do with this device. It is assumed that can perform the same functions as Google Glass today, but we can not be sure.

The truth is that Google has struggled to maintain the reputation of the Google Glass safe. In fact, the external projector that attaches to the front of the device could easily break if a user uses glasses daily. Anyway, this eyewear will undergo many changes in the near future, making sure that will solve this minor inconvenience.

These new glasses Google have broken into the American market at a price that is around a thousand euros. Despite the great potential that this implies, seem to have gotten along quite well with users.

The potential is visible because it is a wireless device that lets you surf the Internet or take pictures without using hands. However, neither the developers themselves know very well how they will use in the near future. In fact, the great debate of the Google Glass is whether they will be more useful in a home or in one job.

A couple of months ago these glasses suffered a couple of software updates to improve the user experience. The first was the activation of Notification Glance. With it, the consumer can display a panel every time you get any notification through eye movement. This makes improve interaction modes weareable.

Second, the wearable now includes improved photo sharing for Android users, the operating system for phones and tablets of the multinational. Also, for two months, these glasses are able to tell you the location of where you parked your car. As if that were not enough, the company also will display a notification that the battery is depleted when it is for less than 20% of its capacity.

In short, Google is putting all its efforts to improve the software and hardware on their smart glasses, but still has a long way to go.
