LG is expected to begin mass production of a new type of flexible screens this summer. What really new is that it can bend to extreme lengths when compared with what we’ve seen so far. Does that mean we’ll finally start seeing smartphones and tablets wrapped in his pockets? Probably not. But undoubtedly pave the way for devices with unusual shapes and increasingly large screens.

For this aspect as extremely flexible screens are made of plastic, so there is a material which can be easily split, such as glass. Still, LG has also commented that these new plastic screens have nothing to envy the glass for brightness, energy efficiency and color reproduction. The intentions of the company to offer screens that can be rolled completely, is something that was last summer.

Last July, LG introduced a new type of flexible, transparent screens that promise to become tomorrow’s technology. The company showed at that time, the chances of an 18-inch OLED panel that can be bent to reach 3 inches radio without losing its possibilities. The proposed 18-inch panel showed LG has a resolution of 1200 by 810 pixels, with a total of 1 million megapixels. The manufacturer’s intention is to bring this same concept to smartphones and tablets.

It is making great progress. His latest phone, the LG G Flex 2, shows that the company bet hard by the curve. Thanks to its appearance, we can get a more ergonomic position when subjected to talk through it. In addition, it is designed for a more immersed experience to see the contents. The size of your screen remains at 5.5 inches, but has increased the resolution up to 1920 x 1080 pixels or Full HD quality.

The curved screen of LG G Flex 2 is undoubtedly the most flamboyant claim this terminal, but is by no means the only one. Your processor also deserves special mention. The device equips the controversial Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. It was the first manufacturer to equip it. Although at this point we do not know if this is going to bring more problems than benefits. In terms of memory, this chip is aided by 2GB of RAM, which offers fluency in all its processes. Meanwhile, it also integrates a major goal of 13 megapixels, allowing you to take pictures at a maximum resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels. As in the other sections, this LG G Flex 2 release is also in the operating system. It is governed by Android 5.0.1, aka Lollipop.

It is expected that this new phone come to Europe next March at a price that is estimated to be around 700 or 800 euros. It will come in two color variations: red and silver gray. But LG is not the only manufacturer to bet on this type of curved screens on their devices. It is expected that this year other models are announced. Including the Sony Xperia Z4 Curve, we could meet in March the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
