The Bose Cinemate 120 is a new component of the Cinemate Family Home Cinema equipment of American firm specializes in audio systems. It is based on a sound bar compact dimensions plus a wireless subwoofer module that is responsible for providing all the energy and pressure to low frequencies team. The system is completed with a control console that has all the connections and is also in charge of audio processing. Optionally, the adapter allows Soundtouch the Cinemate 120 access music from your computer through WiFi home network and combines it with other Bose speakers to create a multi-room system. It costs 1,120 euros or 1,260 euros if we add the wireless adapter. We will see more calmly.
The undisputed star of Cinemate 120 is definitely the sound bar, which has a compact and unobtrusive appearance, and dimensions of 43 inches wide by 8.60 high and 8 inches deep, plus a weight of 2.25 kilos. This is the main speaker, who will transmit the mid and high frequencies, dialogues and surround sound effects, and why Bose has incorporated all its technical and popular features auto-calibration and equalization equipment. For starters, the bar is equipped with five speakers, three placed in the front of the bar and two side panels. By arrangement and number of speakers, this setting matches that of a 5.1 system (a center channel, two front and two rear-channel stereo surround channels plus subwoofer), but surely this assignment will change depending on the program or source reproduction.
The other component of the system is Acoustimass subwoofer. This has the advantage that your connection is via a wireless signal, so you will not need to spend any wires under the cabinet or install anything. Just place it where you want, plug it into the stream and go. The subwoofer has measures 37.50 inches high by 19.70 28.60 wide and deep, and weighs 3.40 kilograms. Once you have installed the bar and subwoofer, the function ADAPTiQ incorporated into the Bose Cinema 120 performs an acoustic analysis of the room and automatically adjusts equipment depending on the shape and furniture we have in the room to extract maximum performance speakers.
Finally, the control console has all the inputs to communicate the computer audio sources we have. We’ll find four HDMI inputs, one coaxial digital audio input, another entry with fiber optic connection, analog audio input for any other player with audio output, HDMI output for connection to a display screen and headphone output. Furthermore, if we add the wireless adapter SoundTouch we can access the music of our computer using our WiFi network and play our digital library of songs or access Internet radio stations or online music services like Deezer or Spotify.
The Bose Cinemate 120 is, in short, an interesting home cinema compact, ideal for those who do not want to hassle with rear speakers but still looking for quality sound. The Cinemata 120 is available now and is priced at 1,120 euros basic, or 1,260 euros with wireless SoundTouch system.
