Philips introduces a new monitor with advanced color features (coverage Adobe RGB, 10-bit color panel) but attractively priced, which could represent a good compromise for many photo enthusiasts.
This is the Philips 272P4A, 27-inch 2560×1440 pixels based on AH-IPS panel with white LED backlight, able to cover 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. The panel has a color depth of 10-bit real, like of competitors and comes with a pre-calibration in the factory that the professionals will not be enough, but that is certainly a good starting point for those who, keen photographer, want to simply a monitor that delivers smooth gradations and realistic.
Interesting technology SmartUniformity that, as the name suggests, self-adjusts the backlight of the panel to get a uniformity of at least 95%, whereas for a consumer monitor a fluctuation of 10% compared to the maximum value is far from unusual.
Also present an unspecified technology Flicker-Free, always acting on the brightness, allow you to adjust the flicker. For the moment, no other details are known.
The Philips 272P4A has all the solutions typical of the professional models – base adjustable in height to 150mm, pivot function, complete with DVI inputs that provide support HDCM, DisplayPort and two HDMI. There are, however, even more consumer accessories such as webcams and speakers, and is also a 3-port USB 3.0 HUB. Available Philips 272P4A since January 2015, the official price of 799 Euro.
