Despite what you may think is not a simple pointing device: Mouse Box contains all the components of a real computer.
On the market there are mouse models to suit almost any need, both professional and for entertainment: wireless, cable connected, with two or more keys, with central wheel for scrolling and even LED lights. As proposed by a Polish team with Mouse Box is however completely new and unprecedented: it is a real computer hidden inside a device for aiming.
Under the shell are in fact hidden a quad core ARM Cortex 1.4GHz, WiFi module for connecting to the Internet, accelerometer, gyroscope, two USB 3.0 ports and 128 GB of internal memory for storage to be expanded with cloud services. The output video is managed via HDMI, DVI and VGA, while the power is supplied by a special pad to use as a mat, so you do not need extra cables for charging the internal battery option. Is not given to know what the operating system equipped, if Android or Windows. Here is the statement from the team responsible for the project.
We present Mouse Box, a computer other than those seen so far. Born from the incredible combination of two of the most important components of a PC, or a mouse and the computer itself .
Upon Mouse Box is not for sale. It is a concept very interesting, partly inspired by that of the many micro-PC that have been launched on the market in recent years, which in all likelihood will make its debut on the future of crowd funding platforms like Kickstarter or Indiegogo. If offered at a price not too high, a similar device could be an excellent choice for those who are always on the go, lifting them from the obligation to carry a notebook to access to software and services from home or from ‘office.
