HyperX Cloud II - headset 7.1

HyperX Cloud II - headset 7.1

After a first stereo version, HyperX unveils a new version 7.1 of the headset gamer, simply named Cloud II.

The English brand owned by Kingston, a specialist in computer components, had surprised us with its first headset, the HyperX Cloud, who had obtained honorably 4 stars and now part of our buying guide.

Hyper Cloud II incorporates lines and finishes his older: Round design, aluminum base and shape memory foam on the headband and ear leather. It is also circum-aural, closed type.

The novelty comes primarily from the integration of its virtualized 7.1 with the new USB backlit control unit with an integrated sound card. Its controls allow it to independently manage the volume and microphone volume and virtualization 7.1 and the microphone. The latter, electret cardioid removable enjoys a refresher with noise suppression, automatic gain control and echo cancellation – and thus a compressor / gate.

As for audio performance, we obviously hope that this version wills at least as good as the last. She embarks on this dynamic transducers 53 mm neodymium magnet that promise a frequency response of 15 Hz to 25 kHz, distortion of less than 2% and an impedance of 60 Ohms. The headset uses USB power on the PC or MAC, but has still a mini-jack 3.5 mm to be connected to the PS4 and Xbox One; in the latter case, it will however be equipped with a specific adapter sold separately.
