Samsung announces 5G GiGA LTE for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

Samsung announces 5G GiGA LTE for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

Samsung released a firmware update for Galaxy S6 in Korea that unlocks the connection 5G GiGA LTE device.

It seems that Samsung is about to revolutionize the speed of the data connection on their devices by introducing wireless technology 5G GiGA LTE.

If you thought the Download Booster of Samsung devices were fast and that the 4G LTE was the most we can aspire for the moment, you’d better think again: it seems that the Korean giant, the first manufacturer to have its own device equipped with LTE Advanced (the Galaxy S4 LTE-A), is about to revolutionize once again the wireless technology bringing the 5G GiGA LTE on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

According to a report from Korea, it seems that Samsung has teamed up with the operator KT nine months ago to usher in this new technology. But what is it and how the 5G GiGA LTE? Substantially the 5G works by taking the LTE network and making it faster via Wi-Fi. According to the report, the new GiGA LTE will speed record of 1.17 Gbps in download speeds of up to 4 times faster LTE A, and upload up to 10 times faster LTE A.

The GiGA LTE, or 5G, will not grow in mass before 2020, but this does not stop Samsung who wants to give a taste of the power thanks to the latest Galaxy S6. In fact, the connection 5G will be available from today in Korea through a firmware upgrade that should be going to release at this time. In the future, this type of connection will become a part of the devices flagship company (probably also with the Galaxy Note 5). Korean operator KT is the first to offer this speed to all its consumers, but on the other hand even SK Telecom and LG Uplus have already approved the 5G wireless for the foreseeable future.
