Panasonic Lumix TZ70 - compact camera with 30x zoom

Panasonic begins to prepare the holidays with the launch of its new superzoom compact camera. The new Panasonic Lumix TZ70 seeks to maintain good standing that has earned the Japanese multinational in the category of traveling zoom with models like the Lumix TZ60 and TZ40. To do this, the new Lumix TZ70 has the same angle Leica zoom with 24 mm and 30 increases, and combines it with a MOS sensor that offers a lower resolution than its predecessor, in exchange for incorporating larger pixels to improve the response in low light conditions. Let’s review their characteristics.

Now that the holidays arrive, the super zoom cameras become one of the most demanded by amateur photographer’s gadgets. Reasons not spare them are compact and manageable size, offering increasingly better performance and image quality, focal range and is capable of covering vast distances. Thus, the new Panasonic Lumiz TZ70 fulfilled to the letter with all these requirements. It has outer dimensions of 110.7 mm wide, 64.6 high and 34.4 deep, its weight is 243 grams, and is also available in black or in an elegant combination of black and silver. At the rear, the TZ70 has a three-inch LCD and 920,000-dot resolution, but does not have any joint, is accompanied by an electronic viewfinder. This viewer performs the same function as the SLR, but instead of using an optical system to display the image, incorporating a small OLED display with a resolution of 1,116,000 points. It is systems that is becoming increasingly popular among manufacturers, and also serve to focus the traditional way, it is helpful when checking the frame when the sunlight does not let us see clearly the LCD display.

The new Panasonic Lumix TZ70 is equipped with the same zoom Leica DC Vario Elmar which already included the previous Lumix TZ60 and has a focal range of 4.3 to 129 mm would be equivalent to a 24- 720 mm in 35 mm standard step. This is a zoom of no less than 30x, which we should suffice for most situations we can find during the holidays. Of course, to use the zoom at its maximum focal TZ70 incorporates the optical stabilization system called Hybrid OIS + that can correct displacement of the target by five points, and it works well in video mode. The lens also has a manual control ring that will allow us to adjust the focus by hand, and that combined with the electronic viewfinder brings us to the experience of shooting with a professional camera, something that surely will appeal to photo enthusiasts.

Even if there is a significant development in the TZ70 is the new 12.1-megapixel MOS sensor. For if we consider that the previous TZ60 offered a resolution of 18 megapixels, it might seem that the new model has taken a step backwards in terms of quality. Obviously, this is not so, and the explanation for the lower resolution is to be found in larger pixels that equips the new sensor. The pixels of the TZ60 are 1.5 times larger than the TZ60, and because of this are able to capture many details of the image. This increase in the size of the pixels results in a better quality picture, better performance in low light, and less digital noise in photos. Video recording in Full HD, support for RAW, artistic filters and WiFi and NFC ports complete the feature list of this interesting traveling camera. The Panasonic Lumix TZ70 is available in our country, and its approximate retail price is 400 euros.
