Many Android fans eagerly awaiting the release of the latest version of the mobile operating system on their smartphones, and owners of devices from Sony is no exception. The company understands this and constantly shares with user’s relevant information about the status of the development of fresh updates. So, this week it became known that the company is actively working on AOSP to create a universal core and its subsequent use in official and unofficial firmware. Today, the company reported on the results of the work done by publishing a video in which “naked” Android 5.0 Lollipop running on Xperia Z1, Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3. Moreover, the video interface and operation had shown some conventional applications, in order to prove availability of firmware.



 Unfortunately, very little chance that Sony has ever released the official Android 5.0 firmware with no proprietary graphical shell and predefined services of Google . Meanwhile, in the bowels of the company is actively being worked on updating the lineup for Xperia Z. So, Sony, together with the Swedish mobile operator Three offer their customers owning smartphones Xperia Z3 or Xperia Z3 Compact, take part in a closed beta test Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is these devices are the first participants in the beta, and probably this year will receive a system update. Updating other devices lineup Xperia Z will begin early next year.
