Corning Gorilla Glass 4 will be twice as resistant if dropped

Corning Gorilla Glass 4

You know that one of the tests that never fail when a new device hits stores are the tests of falls and, although we have seen significant improvements in recent years in most smartphones and tablets star, there is damage that virtually never manages to avoid, especially when the impact is front: cracks in the screens. The arrival of Corning Gorilla Glass 4, however, could do much to change the situation.

Corning presents its new Gorilla Glass 4

Corning today introduced the next generation of its Gorilla Glass (and we already fourth) and is worth be very attentive to the improvements brought us because, as you know, is the supplier of almost all major manufacturers for their flagship. The improvement is also certainly important, because if the previous generation protection from accidental scratches had increased markedly, the drop tests have shown that we are still in need of greater resistance to falls.

This is the point that has attacked directly Corning with Gorillas Glass 4, which has announced that its evidence has shown strength falls twice that of its predecessor. In fact, while virtually nothing could save breaking a glass hits a hard surface over a meter high; it can survive 80% of the time. It is not to recommend throwing yourself when you may have just for the fun of putting it to the test, but it is a fairly reassuring statistic. We have no doubt, in any case, we will have the chance to check when the new generation of smartphone that have them are facing independent tests falls, never missing.
