Intel Black Brook: Portable All-in-One PC with battery and 20 inches

Intel Black Brook - Portable All-in-One PC

Under the name Intel Black Brook the processor manufacturer has introduced a new reference design for portable All-in-one PCs that are equipped with 20 to 27 inch displays. Corresponding devices we have already seen from manufacturers such as Dell, Asus or Lenovo. Intel would like but introduce a new standard that will determine parts of the equipment. So also the recently introduced Real Sense 3D camera for gestures is used. Thus, the operation will be extended by one additional level. Intel tried this technology breaking news in as many devices as possible to accommodate.

The Intel Black Brook is basically a 20-inch All-in-One PC that can do without network connection 5 hours through an integrated battery. The reference design provides for certain components that could well produce interesting new devices. Overall, Intel focused on the end consumer range and selects as not too spectacular amenities. These include Intel Core processors and a Full HD resolution. The performance should be sufficient for normal users actually, although Full HD could already be on 20 to 27 inch something little. A digitizer and stylus seems to be not provided. Would certainly not have been wrong, but probably the price would push up.

Overall, the 20-inch is Intel Black Brook approximately 20 mm thin and features on the back of a kickstand. Thus, the All-in-one PC be placed anywhere and used with touch screen. At the front a real sense 3D camera for gestures has been integrated. With this, the tablet will then be served with certain hand movements. In the kitchen, leafing through recipes, if you have dirty hands, certainly not such a bad idea . But 20 to 27 inches must find a place only once. Extremely portable, it is not and it shows in the end in the video from Intel. Nevertheless, it is somewhat independent from the power grid by the rechargeable battery and then so also eg play better.

The development of the Intel Black Brook is in full swing. The prototype, the Engadget could look at, did not work so well. It could well be that we will see based on this reference design at CES 2015 already first devices. In the consumer sector, an Intel Core M was certainly not a bad choice for such an All-in-one PC with battery.
