The YotaPhone was the world’s first mobile screen on the front and rear. This was possible because, in the rear of the terminal, was active electronic ink panel whichis mainly used for displaying notifications or in some cases, to expand the functionality of an application.
As expected, and as with any pioneering technology, the original version of the smartphone had a number of defects at the hardware level as well as having an aesthetic little care. Well, the Russian company that manufactured this mobile is preparing to launch the second generation of this device, the YotaPhone 2. As pointed out, this team will have improved specifications, design and of course, software.
This phone was announced earlier this year and has made sporadic appearances in some media. However, until now we did not know the official date of submission. The YotaPhone 2 will be released on December 3 in a single event in London. However, it still has not revealed any official details of it.
For all we know, the smartphone will come with a five-inch main display and a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. This means you will have a pixel density of 441 ppi. Thanks to her, we can see all the files in it to reproduce high quality. The second screen, which will be located in the back of the phone and will be e-ink will be 4.7 inches and has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
Its main camera wills eight megapixel sensors, allowing us to make some photographs of acceptable quality. It is true that it is not the best on the market, but this feature is offset because it has two screens. Meanwhile, the front will have a two megapixel lens. With it, we can make all that we want selfies and video calls.
The interior will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, a chip that, although it seems somewhat dated, we ensure good terminal performance. This one will accompany two gigabytes of RAM, with which we can run all the applications you want without seeing slowed excess equipment. According to the rumors, the team will have 2550 milliamp battery, which will involve a range of about one day.
As for connections, the previous version of the device was compatible with 4G, so we assume that the second-generation smartphone will be too. Also come with WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.
Currently do not have data on the availability thereof or the cost, but the original asking price was 500 euros YotaPhone, a figure too high for the specifications that had the terminal.
YotaPhone 2 the phone with two screens, will be presented on December 3
