The German company Medion presents a new device called convertible or multimode trying to gather the practicality of tablets and portable power on a single computer. The new Medion Akoya P2214T offers three different operating modes: tablet, laptop and stand for watching movies or video conferencing mode. To achieve such versatility, features a 11.6-inch screen that can rotate up to 300 degrees to accommodate the different positions of each mode.


 Medion is a German belonging to Lenovo Group focused on the development of affordable but competent and innovative electronic products company, and this new convertible is a good example. Despite the relative novelty of the proposal, the Medion Akoya P2214T offers a sober, discreet, but that discretion over when we begin to turn the screen on the stand-keyboard. And the Akoya P2214T screen can rotate 300 degrees to change the laptop mode to Stand Mode, allowing us to place it on the table stand for watching movies, for example. Also, this screen is detachable keyboard to use the Akoya P2214T as a tablet.


 The Medion Akoya P2214T account, as we have said, with a 11.6-inch display that incorporates technologies IPS (In Plane Switching) and AHVA (Advanced Hyper Viewing Angel) to allow good visibility from any angle. This is of course multi-touch screen and offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). The P2214T further includes a Touch Pen or integrated to write more comfortably on the screen stylus.

 Following the technical data, the P2214T incorporates an Intel Celeron N2940 processor and graphics card Intel® HD to 1.83 GHz and 2 MB of cache. The RAM is 4 GB internal storage as we find a flash drive 64GB in the tablet, plus a 500 GB hard drive in the base unit or keyboard. The battery is also divided into two components, one in each unit, and total autonomy of 10 hours is announced. To transmit sound, the Medion Akoya P2214T equips two speakers with Dolby Home Theater technology, and communicates with the outside; we have an HD webcam and a microphone. Its external dimensions are 299 x 194 x 10.2 mm and 710 grams for the tablet, and 299 x 221 x 11.5 mm with 890 grams of weight to the base unit.


 As operating system, Akoya P2214T including Windows 8.1  and between the included software will find a free trial version of Microsoft Office 365, McAfee LiveSafe antivirus also and test packs Medion Home Cinema Suite and Media Pack focused on solutions and multimedia applications .


 Turning to connectivity, the unit tablet offers a multiple reader microSD, SDHC and SDXC cards, the microUSB port, micro HDMI and Audio-Kombo connector which integrates the microphone input and audio output. In the base unit or keyboard we find two USB 2.0 ports.


 The new Medion Akoya P2214T is now available and for sale, and its recommended price is 430 euros.
