With the Huawei Honor Tablet the Chinese manufacturer will first update in Malaysia a new Android Tablet with 8 inch large display and phone function on the market. For a price equivalent to about 145 € you get an entry-level tablet with UMTS and phone function. The availability could be extended in the next few weeks to other countries. The advertising speaks Dabon namely, that it is first sold in Malaysia. But whether it has really great opportunities in the technical specifications and the price is questionable.
Basically, the design of the tablet Huawei Honor is from the front very simple and not too intrusive. The back side aluminum and the portions of plastic on the top and bottom remember older models. The display is 8 inches tall and has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Basically, the IPS panel of Huawei is always very good in presentation. The tablet is powered by a quad-core processor Snapdragon 200 – the weakest SoC from Qualcomm. There is also only 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory that can be extended, however. The special feature is of course the UMTS modem and makes calls only available from the Tablet. More and more manufacturers are integrating this function – even when it seems already borderline with 8 inches.
Other features of the Huawei Honor Tablet include a 5 MP camera on the back, a 0.3-MP camera on the front, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. The operating system in turn is only Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is used and only the even older Emotion UI 1.6. Whether it is actually still give for updates , written in the stars. Especially at very cheap devices is often not planned. The battery falls with 4600 mAh for the technical data from quite generous, so the term could be quite good.
Overall, the Huawei Honor Tablet has a compact design with not too large frame around the display. Exact information about the weight and the dimensions unfortunately we have not.
