Canadians turn iPad mini in a virtual reality helmet

AirVR - iPad mini


Canadian developers launched a Kickstarter project at the site of the device that extends the functionality of iPad mini and iPhone 6 Plus. With a special device owners “apple” devices will be able to turn the gadgets in a virtual reality helmet.


 As conceived by engineers, iPhone or iPad is attached to the device, attached to the user’s head. The device, called AirVR, resembles a pair of binoculars with two lenses that are on the screen of the mobile device simultaneously transmit two streams of images for the left and right eyes.

 It is assumed that AirVR ideal for games. The developers say that very soon will be ready the first application through which users can immerse themselves in the world of virtual reality. Also AirVR does not employ any one of the connector’s iPhone or iPad, that in the future a great opportunity for additional improvements and modifications to the device by connecting external devices such as gaming consoles.


 Currently the project is at the stage of collecting funds for the series production engineers need 20,000 Canadian dollars. In case of success, AirVR can hit the shelves early next year.
