We talked about the Canon EOS 7D Mark II, a camera that will do well both amateur photography to discerning as professionals in photo and video quality and versatility seeking. The main novelty of the Canon EOS 7D Mark II is its speed, allowing us to shoot images burst to not miss a single detail of the action, even in low light. It features a 20.2 megapixel sensor which is accompanied by two DIGIC 6 Processors for large, clear images in virtually any condition. It also has an improved system with 65 cross-type points approach one flashing detector and measuring sensor with infrared detection. Briefly , a high-end camera which does not lack anything. We see all the details below.

 Sensor and image processor

The  Canon EOS 7D Mark II has a CMOS sensor with dimensions of 22.4 x 15 mm. ‘s total 20.9 megapixels, of which there are 20.2 effective megapixels format 4: 3. Takes an integrated filter low pass with fluorine coating system and self-cleaning of Canon, both designed systems for dust is as far as possible from this piece, which is the heart of the camera.

Next to the sensor is a dual processor DIGIC 6 , which ensures that the camera can shoot stills at high speeds, namely ten frames per second, said soon ( infinite if we use format JPEG , but if RAW can shoot up to 31 images ). With this burst we can capture the fastest movements and all at full resolution, without losing any quality. It also has a system of flicker detection recording flickers of our light source (eg a fluorescent tube) and synchronizes the shot to coincide with the time when the light is on.

 System focus and exposure control

As mentioned earlier, the focusing system is one of the strengths of the Canon EOS 7D Mark II. It is a system TTL-CT-SIR with a dedicated CMOS sensor, which also carries a system object tracking. The focus area consists of 65 cross-type points, able to detect and look at image details quickly, though there is very little light. You can select the Auto Focus with 65 areas at the same time, but also can be selected individually or in groups.

The system object tracking also helps us to take pictures of moving subjects or objects and also freeze its movement, which get completely crisp. The system AF iTR allows us to choose the tracking mode according to what we photographed. Furthermore, once the set point to lose focus and not even pass a person in front of the camera.

The exposure metering is done through a dedicated sensor has 252 distinct areas. This part detects and analyzes each area to achieve adequate exposure to each situation. It is also designed for low light situations, what it does is measure the infrared light to get a good result in any situation. If the light is very low, its ISO sensitivity reaches 16,000, but can be forced up to 51,200 ISO.

 Photo and video modes

How could it be otherwise, the  Canon EOS 7D Mark II has plenty of shooting modes for both photos to videos, so you can adjust to the last parameter of each shot. Has a mode that automatically detects the scene, but if you are someone who like to control the settings yourself, has the usual manual modes on any SLR camera (aperture priority, shutter priority, manual and Bulb). It also has built-in color effects and several image enhancing features such as red eye reduction, noise detection in long exposures, correction of chromatic aberrations and distortions. Mode has HDR and other basic functions like multiple exposures.

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II also enables video recording FullHD with Live View mode. Each piece will have duration of 29:59 minutes and has a system of autofocus smoothes transitions. The maximum recording rate is 60 fps and the videos are formatted MOV. Speaking of formats, images can be JPEG or RAW, but also record both formats simultaneously.

 Display and Screen

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II has a type viewfinder pentaprism covering 100% of the frame. Includes a dial to adjust the diopter and gives us a preview of depth of field. At the rear carries a three-inch screen with 1,040,000 pixels so that we can move through menus or use Live View modes. One of its drawbacks is that the screen does not flip a detail that always comes in handy when shooting movies if we are in a more difficult position, as well as to avoid reflections of the sun.

Also this piece holds one extra battery and thus extends the life as possible.

 Reviews

Canon renews the Canon EOS 7D and makes betting on quickly. The Canon EOS 7D Mark II allows us to do action shots without sacrificing quality or that out of focus. The new model DSLR Japanese brand has a large sensor, a system of advanced metering, two processors and image 65 autofocus points. Moreover continues to enjoy very rugged design with magnesium alloy and allows us to attach accessories to get all game. We miss a WiFi connection or your screen is hinged to avoid reflections, but overall this camera has everything you need for both professional for like most demanding fans.
