Puzzlephone, a competitor to the modular mobile Project Ara

Puzzlephone - modular mobile

Already overtook a few weeks ago: the race of modular mobile has just begun. While the US Company Google is moving more and more in its draft Project Ara, smartphone with interchangeable parts, this time a new project is named for Puzzlephone which puts us on the trail of another mobile modular destined to hit the market next year 2015.

As is known to date, Puzzlephone is a smart phone that has three completely interchangeable parts. Unlike Google Project Ara, each piece of Puzzlephone incorporates several components inside. Thus, the Puzzlephone can be separated into three parts: a part that incorporates the camera, and by the name of Brain; a piece that incorporates the speaker, microphone and screen, and answers to the name of Spine; and a piece that incorporates the battery under the name Heart.

These three pieces (Brain, Spine and Heart ) can be changed by other modules with better specifications, so that the user can replace the main chamber -for example- its Puzzlephone by another camera sensor with improved. So could the screen, which if does break could be replaced by another module in a very convenient way (as if a piece of LEGO) without going through the service.

The creators of Puzzlephone expect to launch the first mobile modular units during mid-2015. And although the operating system installed as standard on this smartphone pieces will correspond to Android, the user may also have the ability to install other systems such as Windows Phone operating or Firefox OS.

Of course, if the market for modular smartphones advances as expected, Puzzlephone little or nothing to do with Project Ara . Google has already starred some rumors in which there is talk of a version of Google Play geared exclusively to sell parts for mobile Ara Project. This shop allow users to buy parts for your mobile as if they were buying an application, which means that each piece would have a record with the views and assessments of users have been able to test it on your terminal.

Although currently there are no official details regarding the arrival of Project Ara market in the first months of January next year 2015 is expected to occur an event that officially unveiled a new version of this Google intelligent modular phone. The event will take place on January 14.
