The Motorola Nexus 6 has a property that is specified by the manufacturer not really closer, as the relevant certification is missing. It is in the case of the waterproof properties, which owns the 6-inch smartphone in any case, as Motorola states on its own website in the specifications. Here it is not known exactly how waterproof the smartphone really is. A test now shows that at least a short dive should not harm the Nexus 6 – and it can even wirelessly charge at it.

Motorola officially only indicates that the Nexus 6 is waterproof, it is called as already in the Moto X (2014), but no specific IP certification, which we know from many other smartphones, such as the Sony Xperia Z3 or Samsung Galaxy S5. It is clear that it can survive a rainstorm without problems well, such as Motorola reportedly told to ask. Exactly how the water tightness is ensured is also not known. Supposedly the smartphone equipped with a nano-coating which seals all fragile items. Have we seen a few years ago at trade shows, with this subsequent sealing have not really caught on. Maybe Motorola uses but a similar technology that makes the smartphone waterproof – at least for a not too great deep and not too long time. If there is a so short fall in the water, the smartphone is likely this mishap survive.
Be set for the waterproof properties of the Motorola Nexus 6 by a video by the smartphone in the bath set at least a few seconds completely under water and is thereby also charged wirelessly. Nevertheless, one can say that it is not damaged directly in the worst case, the water contact and can continue to be used.
Overall, we would naturally desire that express Motorola or Google some depth about how waterproof the Nexus 6 really is. Maybe that would be an additional incentive to buy the 6-inch smartphone.
