Samsung postponed the launch of Tizen smartphone with Samsung Z

Plans Samsung regarding Tizen are long term. Not to launch the first smartphone with the operating system until everything is well prepared. Is this your big gamble to reduce dependence on Google, because currently their best-selling mobile devices are Android. In theory, the release of Samsung Z was imminent and would occur in Russia. However, the South Korean company has reversed. The reason, according to The Wall Street Journal, is that the Tizen ecosystem requires further development, resulting in a shortage of applications for the platform. No wonder that Samsung does not want further explanation or advance any calendar.

The company came to the edition of the show MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress), held in March, with a mobile phone with Tizen. At that time there was talk of the second quarter of this year as the most likely date that the first smartphone with Tizen saw the light. In June 2014, during a developers conference in San Francisco, showed a prototype of Samsung Z, with the promise that it would be launched in the Russian market in the third quarter. However, just over two weeks ago began to circulate the first news of further delays, this time by developers Tizen based in Moscow.

Choosing Russia is not casual. In principle, Samsung does not want to deal directly with Google and Apple, so we prefer to focus on emerging markets such as Russia and India to take its first mobile rolling with Tizen. The objective of the South Korean company is that Tizen runs representing 15 percent of its smartphone sales. Now the hurdle is to convince enough developers to trust this emerging platform. The Tizen Association, formed by Samsung and Intel, among other manufacturers, is spending billions a year to develop the platform, and more than 60 percent of its 67,000 engineers and researchers are intended for the project, with plans to hire 800 engineers more per year.

The platform is attracting the maximum number of programmers with incentives and technical assistance. For example, during the first year, developers who sell their apps in the store Tizen will receive one hundred percent of revenues (excluding taxes and fees mobile operators). Another strong point is the compatibility with HTML5 and multi-device vocation. Not limited to the phones, or the wearable devices. It has also launched a profile of car audio equipment and will soon be finished those TVs and cameras.

The latest stable version (Tizen 2.2.1) dates from November 2013, and is the one that is installed on the Samsung Z. this phone has a screen Super AMOLED 4.8 inch display with a resolution of 720 by 1280 pixels and incorporates a fingerprint sensor and quad-core processor at 2.3 GHz.
