Extending Battery Wear a watch with Android OS

Google introduced a few weeks ago its new operating system for watches and sports bracelets, Android Wear. This platform is only a Android adapting to these new devices. To be more accurate is an extension since the Wear Android device cannot function independently, but need a smartphone to run. Currently there are two watches that have this operating system, and both are available in the online store Google Play, talk about the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, both available for 200 euros. Watches Wear Android is a reflection of our smartphone that offers the notifications directly on the wrist, without us having to take out the phone pocket. But this is not the only thing that seem to smartphones, and smart watches that also suffer from the same problem with the battery. Equipment Android Central has been testing the two available models and offers a number of tips to lengthen the battery life.

Of course in the smartwatch as LG G Watch or Samsung Gear Live is that we have to charge the battery once a day, but if we receive many notifications is very likely that we stay “pulled” by the end of the day. The main problem is the screen and the brightness level, a feature that is also repeated on smartphones. The panel is the part that consumes more energy and if we logically maximum brightness consumption increases. The downside is that both the LG and the Samsung G Watch Gear Live have little brighter screens, although it is slightly higher than the second. There is no option to put the brightness to minimum because otherwise nothing will. It is best to find a middle tier in which the time to read or get notifications but do not punish the battery too.

The second tip they offer is off the darkened mode. Platform activates this mode so we can always see the time, which is just what we asked for a watch. What it does is put the entire black and white screen and a soft contrast to consume little. If this option is disabled the screen will go black, but if you touch its surface or raised our hands to look at when the screen is turned on again, so you can turn smoothly.

What consumes more battery in Android Wear is the notifications that are what makes the display are connected. Disable notifications would stop the device to meet its target, but the Android Wear application allows editing which applications notify and which not. In this case we can remove applications that are not of interest and thus get only reach us the really important notifications in so that we can scrape a few hours of autonomy.
