Thin, thinner, Gionee: With a thickness of now only 5 mm probably comes thinnest smartphone in the world again from the pen of the Chinese manufacturer. The Gionee GN9005 was now at the Chinese regulatory authority TENAA certified and can be seen there also already on the first images.
Not only models and celebrities seem to have succumbed to thinness, and smartphone manufacturers are constantly trying to bring still thinner devices on the market. The current front runner in the Anorexia category, Gionee Elife S5.5 , also known as AllView X2 Soul and Blu Vivo IV, still brought a thickness of 5.5 mm, shortly but from only 5 mm thin Gionee GN9005 is from referenced the same house in their place. In addition to the extremely slim casing, the smartphone also features a real lightweight: only 94 grams brings the GN9005 on the scale and is thus actually easier than a bar of chocolate. From such a thin and light smartphone then you must but do not expect high-end hardware and then the 4.8-inch smartphone also located more in the middle class.
A look at the TENAA also published data sheet reveals a strong 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, the aforementioned 4.8-inch AMOLED display measured together with 720p resolution and 16 GB of internal memory, which does not seem can be extended. Furthermore, even an 8 MP camera with video recording capability in 720p on the back, 5 MP notches on the front and LTE on board. The battery has a capacity of 2,050 mAh, the dimensions of the device are 139.8 x 67.4 x 5.0 mm.
Whether the Gionee GN9005 will find their way into our latitudes, is currently still unclear. The previously thinnest smartphone in the world, Gionee Elife S5.5 has made it at least as AllView X2 Soul in the market and is available to order since the beginning of June, similar would be possible even with the Gionee GN9005.
