With each year are becoming increasingly popular desktop keyboard Chiclet, light and thin – all the usual laptop users. In addition, recently there is a tendency to combine keyboard with touchpad (more giving them a resemblance to notebook). One of the representatives of “combined” keyboards and is Rapoo E9090P, in which, however, there is another interesting feature – wireless charging.
The keyboard comes in a very thin box (almost thick usual desktop keyboard neskolkoletney old) made of transparent plastic with labels made of white cardboard, which is perfectly visible through the device itself. Found inside the wireless charging with USB-cable to connect it to the system unit, a radio to communicate with a PC keyboard and a brief user guide.
Like other keyboard Rapoo, which we have already learned about earlier, Rapoo E9090P assembled on a metal base and is similar in appearance rather than the ultra series E90x0, and on the model 8900P – here we see the same island keyboard design and the same combination of different “shades of black” – black anodized aluminum (with the texture a la “brushed metal”), an even darker touchpad, matte black buttons and black glossy panel is at the top of the keyboard.
Housing is extremely thin at the top of the bottom has a plastic thickening, whereby the keyboard is on the table under the light angle (additional retractable legs in Rapoo E9090P not, so change the angle of the user will not be able to). In E9090P used scissor key design, the course turns medium hardness, with a fairly noticeable click.
At the keyboard has adjustable backlit keys – a separate button for this, though, no, using a combination of Fn + Tab (which allows you to switch between the two versions of the illumination intensity, and turn it off completely). In order to save energy dims after 10 seconds of inactivity, even after a few seconds – completely disconnected.
Keyboard compact – touch panel located on the site of an optional digital unit and a key Insert / Delete / Home / End … Last partially delivered in the top row to the right of the function keys F1-F12, partially – combined with the cursor keys (and pressed through a combination Fn + ..). These keys, by the way, full-size (which is convenient), but fully integrated into the main unit and does not separate from it – in fact, for this reason the right Shift had to make the same size as the other keys, and place it above the key “cursor right “- to such its location clearly have to get used to the user for some time.
Function keys are combined with traditional media, and by default they are just as functional – to control the media player or volume, launch applications, etc. Press these buttons you need in combination with Fn.
The touchpad is large, 10×10 cm, in the lower part there are two zones, marked under the left and right mouse button (however, touch on any part of the panel as well as fulfills left click). Panel is located very close to the keyboard unit, which is why sometimes when you are working, for example, when typing, false alarms.
Keyboard (and touchpad) work fine without installing any additional software, but if you want you can install the proprietary utility Rapoo Touchpad Keyboard Driver, which can be used to remap control gestures (two and trehpaltsevy and specific gestures for Windows 8). In addition, it also allows you to assign new features multimedia keys F1-F12 and indicates low battery (though only in the form of pop-up windows in the system tray – the interface for this utility itself no information windows provided).
A wireless charging relatively compact (9h5.5 cm), is a sloping “bar” with metallic silver edges, black glossy top and rubber base prevents slipping on the table. To charge it should slide under the central part of the keyboard (where specially provided for this cut), then the module icon will blink charging process. Manufacturer does not report any time a full charge, nor how it enough – says only that the lithium-ion battery in the keyboard can withstand more than 800 charge cycles (though, again without specifying how then reduce battery capacity). It connects to the PC via USB, and included is a relatively short cable (1 m) – it may not be enough, if the user wants to charge the keyboard while working at a PC.
Keyboard Rapoo E9090P works at a frequency of 5 GHz, but at a distance of 6-7 meters (line of sight, without any interference) begin to be problems with the connection. By the way, the keyboard is so thin that it had no place to store the USB-receiver – transport it will be kept separately.
Results
Rapoo E9090P impresses workmanship and stylish design and can be used equally well as a desktop and as a keyboard for a media PC. However, she may not like users accustomed to the presence of additional digital block and full block cursor and text navigation. Also worth noting is not the most outstanding performance in terms of range of reliable reception. As for wireless charging, here it looks more like a marketing ploy than a real useful function – in the end, the installation procedure on the keyboard module for the convenience of charging any “connection” nor purely outwardly from the usual principle of charge via USB no different.
